On Saturday, April 27, residents of Bay Minette embraced the opportunity to declutter and recycle as they participated in the annual Clean Out & Recycle Day.

Held in the parking lot of Bay Minette City Hall, the event showcased a range of recycling stations aimed at collecting various materials including grease, aluminum, metals, cardboard, electronics, ink cartridges and more.

Among the offerings were specialized clean-out stations such as a document shredder for files, a drop-off point for tires and a collection point facilitated by the Bay Minette Police Department for the proper disposal of outdated and unwanted medications. Additionally, the Bay Minette Fire Department provided a valuable service by offering free inspections for child safety seats.

While some recycling options were exclusive to the event, others are available year-round. For instance, the Bay Minette Public Library accepts ink cartridges for recycling, and soda tabs can be dropped off at Bay Minette City Hall. Notably, the collection of soda tabs supports the Ronald McDonald House in Mobile, aiding its mission to assist families in staying close to their critically ill or injured child during medical treatment. Furthermore, North Baldwin Utilities operates numerous stations across town as part of its Cease the Grease Program, dedicated to collecting cooking oil for recycling.
