BAY MINETTE — Daphne closed out the regular season with 54-13 Region 1 win at Baldwin County High. DHS quarterback. The Trojans now travel to take on the Poets of Sidney Lanier (Oct. 3) in Montgomery’s Cramton Bowl in the first round of the 6A playoffs.

The Tigers took the first lead when Chase Overstreet tossed a 51-yard touchdown pass to Christopher Hooks on Baldwin County’s opening series.

But DHS quarterback Chance Newman answered with a touchdown pass to Myles Henderson — the first of three to Henderson and four touchdown passes on the night.

Overstreet also found Nathan Barnes open for a Tiger TD in the first half.

Daphne’s Jamorian Pogue added two rushing touchdowns while Mike Franklin and Newman each had one. Brian Mitchell also caught a Newman TD pass for the Trojans.
