Bicyclist killed following impact with vehicle


SILVERHILL, Alabama — A Daphne man was killed following a collision with a vehicle on County Road 54 near County Road 49 just north of Silverhill.

According to a release issued Tuesday by the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, State Troopers responded to the accident shortly before 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 1.

The lone bicyclist, who has been identified as 51-year-old Luis Ramirez Basilio of Daphne, was traveling east when he was struck from behind by a 2005 Dodge Caravan driven by Audrey Seale, 38, of Loxley.

Basilio was airlifted to University Hospital in Mobile where he was pronounced dead; Seale was not injured.

Seale has not been charged in the case as troopers continue to investigate.
