BAY MINETTE, Alabama — More than 300 veterans from Baldwin, Mobile and Escambia counties in Alabama, and Escambia County, Florida, got the opportunity to meet with more than 60 employers on Thursday, Jan. 16 when the Alabama Career Center System held its seventh annual Baldwin County Job Expo at the John F. Rhodes Civic Center in Bay Minette.

“We want to take this opportunity to thank the city of Bay Minette and the North Baldwin Chamber of Commerce for partnering with us on this,” said Hank Lahti, ACCS local veterans employment representative. “We’ve always had a great working relationship with our local representatives and it’s those relationships that make things like this happen.”

Organized by the Bay Minette Career Center with the Alabama Career Center System in partnership with the North Baldwin Chamber of Commerce and the city of Bay Minette, the Job Expo was also held in conjunction with the Hire Vets Medallion Program (hirevets.gov), the Alabama Works! program and the Southwest Alabama Partnership for Training and Employment.

The Expo included employers from government agencies, manufacturing, the service industry, healthcare, staffing, financial institutions, schools, skilled workforce employers and support organizations.

There are two Career Centers located in Baldwin County, in Bay Minette at 201 Faulkner Drive, and Foley at 200 W. Michigan Ave. You can also find the Alabama Career Center System on Facebook for updates on workshops and job fairs.
