Commissioner Tucker Dorsey to seek third term to District 3

Commissioner Tucker Dorsey announced he will seek a third term to serve as Baldwin County Commissioner for District 3 in the upcoming primary election in June.

A native of Atlanta, Ga., Dorsey has lived in Baldwin County for 23 years. He holds a BBA in Real Estate from the University of Georgia and has an extensive background in real estate and business development.

Dorsey was first elected to the County Commission in 2010. He sits on the Board of Directors for the Association of County Commissioners of Alabama (ACCA) and served two years on its Legislative Committee.

“It has been a privilege to serve Baldwin County as your District 3 Commissioner, and I am blessed to be able to run for another term,” Dorsey said. “As we continue to grow, the Commission needs steady, strong, honest leadership managing your county government openly and efficiently with regional collaboration, while continuing to develop an environment for businesses to thrive and protecting the quality of life we all enjoy.”

Dorsey is a Class 24 graduate of Leadership Alabama and currently serves as regional co-chair for the organization. He was also selected as Interim Executive Director for the South Alabama Regional Planning Commission and is a member of the Mobile Chamber of Commerce, as well as all five Baldwin County Chambers of Commerce.

Dorsey’s community involvement includes serving on the Board of Directors for the Baldwin County Education Coalition, Baldwin County Strawberry Festival, Mobile Navy League, Honor Flight volunteer and guardian, Boy Scouts of America Mobile Executive Council and the Bayshore Christian School Facilities and Growth Committee. Dorsey also started the Red Text Foundation benefitting the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Boys Ranch.

Dorsey was recognized as #7 on the Yellow Hammer Top 20 Local Leaders for the State of Alabama in 2012 and 2016.

Dorsey is married to the former Susan Haynes of St. Simons Island, Georgia, and they have one son, Cyrus. The Dorsey family actively serves at 3Circle Church. An avid snow skier and hunter, Dorsey is also a licensed sports car racing driver and instructor, as well as an accomplished professional photographer.
