Fairhope Second graders explore the bay

Posted

Students in Shannon Edwards’ second grade class met residents of Mobile Bay earlier this month when they visited Fairhope Beach.

During a visit to the Pelican’s Nest Science Lab the students caught fish, crabs and other tiny sea creatures floating along the seashore. They were able to get a closer view with handheld microscopes.

The Pelican’s Nest Science Lab is Fairhope Educational Enrichment Foundation’s signature project. Students from across Baldwin County visit the cheerful teal-colored building all year long to learn about the local environment, watershed and complete STEM curriculum.
