FOLEY - At approximately 2:30 a.m. on Sun., Oct. 20, Foley Police responded to an accident involving a motorcycle and a pickup truck near the 8,000 block of Highway 59 South. A preliminary investigation led investigators to believe that both vehicles were southbound and the BMW motorcycle ran into the back of the Toyota Tundra. Excessive speed of the motorcycle was a major contributing factor. The driver of the motorcycle, Tyler Daniel Yancey, age 26 of Gulf Shores, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The three occupants of the truck were transported to South Baldwin Regional Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. The investigation is ongoing, and it is too early to determine if drugs or alcohol were a factor in this crash.
