Food Network Star coming to “A Holiday Market”

Posted

The Committee of Public Art - Bay Minette is partnering Down in the Delta to bring Martie Duncan to the area as part of "A Holiday Market," set for Nov. 9 at Pimperl Place.

Martie represented home cooks everywhere as runner-up on Season 8 of the popular television show, Food Network Star. Since then, she has traveled extensively, appearing at food events across the United States with celebrities like Michael Symon, Bobby Flay and Guy Fieri.

In June 2018, Martie appeared on Food Network with Justin Warner, and together the pair won a Food Network Star duo episode of Guy’s Grocery Games.

More than a cookbook, “Alabama Cravings” is the ultimate Alabama dining guide. From the Rocket City to the Gulf Coast, Alabama’s own Food Network Star, Martie Duncan, spent four months on the road, sampling more than 400 dishes, drinks, and desserts along the way. The resulting collection of 97 recipes captures every possible craving and takes readers into the dining rooms of beloved Alabama restaurants, cafes, and diners. Martie’s “don’t miss” tips for each locale will make readers want to plan a restaurant road trip immediately.

She is also the author of two cookbooks, Birmingham’s Best and Magic City Cravings.

Her website. MartieDuncan.com, showcases her easy recipes and fun ideas for affordable entertaining at home. As the party expert for MyRecipes.com, her Martie Knows Parties videos are consistently one of the site’s most popular features.

COPA will be set up at A Holiday Market to sell copies of "Alabama Cravings" for the discounted price of $25. Advance, unsigned copies of the book are available now at Bay Minette City Hall and will also be sold at Ladies Night Out on Nov. 8. Proceeds from these books will benefit COPA projects. The purpose of the organization is to promote art in public spaces and enhance the visual experience through various mediums like environmental displays, murals or sculptures.
