BAY MINETTE, Alabama -- A GPS device was used to track a stolen vehicle from Mobile to Baldwin County, where deputies found several other vehicles and arrested two men who fled after they were spotted entering the property.

According to a release issued Monday by the BCSO Investigations Command, Friday, May 4, Baldwin County Sheriff Deputies received a call from Mobile Police Department investigators stating that they were working a burglary to a business where several work trucks had been stolen. One of these vehicles had a GPS that was pinging in Baldwin County.

Patrol deputies along with Investigators responded to 44800 Freddie Sellers Road in the Bay Minette area. Upon arrival at this location the deputies discovered the reported stolen 2013 Chevrolet 350 truck on the property.

Also discovered on this same property was a Kubota KX 121-3 mini excavator, a Caterpillar Skid Steer and a 20-foot goose neck trailer. Both machines had their VIN plates forcibly removed. As the investigation continued it was discovered that the Kubota, Caterpillar and trailer were stolen from New Iberia, Louisiana.

As deputies began processing the stolen vehicle, a vehicle occupied by two individuals pulled onto the property and upon seeing the deputies immediately fled the area. A vehicle pursuit was initiated and both individuals were apprehended and identified as Freddie Sellers, 28, of Bay Minette, and Greg Holder Jr., 29, of Morgan City, Louisiana, also known as “Pooh Bear.”

Sellers was arrested and charged for possession of a controlled substance when methamphetamine was found in his vehicle. He was also charged with receiving stolen property, first degree; and attempting to elude. Holder was arrested and charged with receiving stolen property first degree when the key to the stolen Caterpillar was found in his pants pocket.

According to the release, additional warrants will be obtained Monday on both Sellers and Holder for receiving stolen property. They are both being held without bond at the Baldwin County Corrections Center.
