FAIRHOPE – A 54-year-old Lincoln, Ala. man died Sunday after falling from a sailboat off the Fairhope Pier, Marine Police officials said.
Paul Pugh was one of three people on a 34-foot sailboat when he fell from the vessel while it was approaching the city marina Sunday afternoon. Pugh was on the bow of the boat reaching for a hook, according to reports.
Witnesses pulled Pugh from the water and performed CPR. He was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The incident is under investigation by the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency Marine Patrol.
