There are only three days left to nominate your favorites before voting begins on Monday, Oct. 7 and the nominees are narrowed down to the top five in each category. Your daily nominations in each of the categories you choose will determine who moves on to the voting round for a chance to be named Big Beautiful Baldwin’s Best of 2020. So far over 30,000 nominations have been made. Nominations are free and can be made at www.gulfcoastnewstoday.com/bestof2020/.
While many think of these ‘Best Of’ contests as fun, there is so much more to it than that. Contests like these give a voice to the local population and let visitors and new inhabitants know where they should go for the BEST products, services and more. That’s why the staff here at Gulf Coast Media chose to keep nominations and winners local to Baldwin County. There are so many wonderful things about our county and we wanted to highlight just some of those reasons. Plus, it is a great way to learn of people and places you might not have ever known about otherwise. From the charming downtown streets of Fairhope to the salty breezes coming from the beaches of Gulf Shores and Orange Beach, to the bustling streets of Daphne and Foley to the quaint communities of Silverhill and Magnolia Springs and everywhere in-between, there is something to love about Baldwin County and why we make this our home.
Readers and community members have until noon on Sunday, Oct. 6 to nominate their favorite businesses, organizations, professionals and more in over 300 categories online. Nominations can be made once per day in each of the categories. Online voting will commence on Monday, Oct. 7 and last through Nov. 3 at midnight. The nominees who receive the most votes will be named Big Beautiful Baldwin’s Best of 2020.
First, second and third place winners will be announced in our Big Beautiful Baldwin’s Best of 2020 special publication that will insert into The Baldwin Times on Friday, Dec. 13 and will be listed on the winners’ website. Besides this recognition, first place winners will also receive a Big Beautiful Baldwin’s Best of 2020 framed certificate and a window cling. Winners will be notified by the Gulf Coast Media staff in November.
