MOBILE POST — A collision between two big rigs resulted in at least one injury early Tuesday morning on Interstate 65 just south of the Stockton/Spanish Fort exit.

Edward Beck of Lawrenceville, Georgia, was transported by Life Flight to Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola when the 2007 Volvo truck he was driving struck the rear of a 2016 Peterbuilt truck driven by Thomas Shirland of Fayetteville, North Carolina.

The incident occurred at 5 a.m. Tuesday morning at the 30.9 mile marker northbound, just south of the Stockton/Spanish Fort exit (Exit 31) of Interstate 65, according to a press release issued Tuesday by the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

The extent of Beck’s injuries is unknown at this time. Alabama Troopers are investigating.
