Sheriff’s investigators seek information in cold case

ROBERTSDALE, Alabama — The Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office is seeking information in a nearly two decades old case of a body recovered from Styx River in the Seminole community.

According to a release issued Wednesday, Feb. 13 by the BCSO Investigations Command, the body was found March 26, 2000 in the river just south of the U.S. 90 bridge. There was no foul play suspected in this case.

The body was that of an Asian or Native American male, 47-53 years old (66-72 today), 5-foot, 5 to 5-foot 7 inches tall, weighing approximately 150 pounds. He had dark hair and a goatee. The person had several distinctive tattoos on his body.

“The Sheriff’s Office is hoping, through our media partners and social media outlets, that the public will share this information, so the family can bring this person home,” according to the release.
