MOBILE, Alabama — A Silverhill man was reportedly killed when his vehicle left the roadway and struck a culvert early Sunday morning in Mobile.

Alabama State Troopers have not determined why the 2010 Toyota Corolla, driven by Stacy McKay, 49, of Silverhill, left the roadway traveling south on Sollie Road near Jewel Street at approximately 4 a.m. on Sunday, according to a release issued by the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

McKay, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, according to the report. He was the sole occupant of the vehicle.

In a separate incident on Sunday, Thomas Earl Moore, 41, of Mobile was killed after leaving the roadway and striking a tree while traveling east on U.S. 90 near Padgett Switch Road in a 2007 Ford Crown Victoria at approximately 2:20 a.m. on Sunday.

Troopers have also not determined why Moore’s vehicle left the roadway. Although he was wearing a seat belt, Moore, who was the vehicle’s lone occupant, was pronounced dead at the scene.

In both cases, Troopers are conducting an ongoing investigation, according to the report.
