A Baldwin County man is being identified as a possible suspect in a rash of vehicle burglaries reported last month in Loxley and Daphne.

According to a release issued Tuesday by the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office Investigations Command, 28-year-old Frank Lee McCall III, 28 was arrested Tuesday, Nov. 28, after being stopped by patrol officers with the Silverhill and Loxley police departments.

McCall is being identified as a suspect in a series of vehicle burglaries reported in November in the Chamberlin Trace and Plantation Hills neighborhoods which are in the Daphne and Loxley areas.

McCall was taken into custody after it was discovered that he had active warrants for his arrest. Investigators with the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division responded to the traffic stop and conducted an interview with McCall. During the interview McCall confessed to his involvement in the vehicle burglaries. McCall was arrested and charged with of unlawful breaking and entering a vehicle with additional charges pending.

No other suspects were involved in these events. During the investigation it was determined that vehicles with unlocked doors were targeted.

“The Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office would like to remind the public to lock their vehicle doors and remove any valuables from plain view,” according to the release. “We also extend our appreciation to the members of the community that came forward with security surveillance video that assisted in this investigation.”

The BCSO release lists McCall as being of Loxley, but jail records show his address as Highway 49, Silverhill. He was booked Wednesday morning on charges of discharging a firearm into an unoccupied dwelling or vehicle (which carries a $10,000 bond) and unlawful breaking and entering of a vehicle ($5,000). He was also booked on an alias warrant of driving with a suspended license ($300) and is being held without bond on a detainer for hold with the Orange Beach Police Department and Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office, according to records.

The Baldwin County Corrections Facility website shows a series of bookings dating back to 2008 when McCall was just 19 years old. In 2009, he served four months on charges of first degree robbery, burglary and assault with the Foley Police Department. His last booking was in April of 2016 on youthful offender and felony failure to appear charges. He was released the next day on a $100 bond.
