5th Annual Christmas Concert in Summerdale

SUMMERDALE – The holiday season is fast approaching, and The Marjorie Younce Snook Public Library in Summerdale is pleased to announce and invite everyone to attend its 5th annual Christmas Concert, which will be held Nov 18 at the Baldwin EMC Building (19600 Highway 59). The doors will open at 6:30 p.m. with the concert beginning at 7 p.m., and refreshments will be available during intermission.

For the 2017 concert, performers for the night of music and celebration include: Sewell Griffith, Victor Andzulis, Hanan Taraby Reddy, Olive Vocal Ensemble, and Corey McKern, with a special appearance by Four a Change.

Griffith is a National Finalist with the Metropolitan Opera, and has sung with world famous conductors and symphonies and operas. She is a multi-award winner and has went solo on numerous film soundtracks and international recordings.

Andzulis is Assistant Professor of Piano at the University of Cumberlands in Williamsburg, Kentucky, and maintains a private piano and strings studio. He has served with many universities during his career and is an active member of the MTNA, as well as a member of the executive board of the KMTA, and is a Nationally Certified Teacher of Music. He performs both as a soloist and collaborative pianist.

Reddy is a mezzo-soprano from Pensacola, Florida. She has been a music lover for many years, and since graduating from Interlochen Arts Academy has starred in many major opera productions, as well as Broadway productions.

McKern has earned praise and acclaim for his involvement with a multitude of opera companies, and has performed many leading roles during his career. He is a former grant recipient from the Sullivan Foundation, as well as the first-place winner of Opera Birmingham, Shreveport Opera, and Mobile Opera competitions.

These masters of music, plus more, will be performing Christmas selections on piano and violin, as well as vocal solos and duets. The night will also include selections by Olive Vocal Ensemble and Four a Change.

To ring in the holiday season with a musical celebration, tickets for the event are on sale at the Summerdale Library, Summerdale Municipal Complex, Giles Underwood and Wilson CPA’s and the Summerdale branch of United Bank. Tickets can also now be purchased online at EventBrite.com. The total cost is $10 for adults and $5 for students, and proceeds benefit the Marjorie Younce Snook Public Library.
