DAPHNE — Teion Stanton hit a three-pointer with two seconds left in regulation to cap a Daphne comeback with a 68-65 win over visiting Spanish Fort. The seventh-ranked Trojans rallied from an 18-point deficit in the third quarter to take the Class 6A, Area 2 win over the fifth-ranked Toros.
Daphne improved to 21-2 over all and 5-0 in Area 2 play with the rivalry victory which ended an eight-game streak by Spanish Fort (16-3, 3-1).
Stanton and Deontaye Buskey each finished with 16 points to lead the Trojans. Amari Solomon hit four three-point shots in the rally.
The Toros were led by Trae Barry's game high 23 points. Terrin Atkinson added 12, Jalen Wayne had 11 and Michael Meadow had nine.
Robertsdale 72, W.S. Neal 60 (OT): The Robertsdale Golden Bears rallied with a strong 13-1 overtime attack to defeat W.S. Neal 72-60. Caden Willingham led the Bears with a game-high 29 points while Zion Bethel had 12 points and 20 rebounds for RHS. Neal was led by John Maddox with 21.
