EMC honors Shining Star Students

SUMMERDALE, Alabama — Baldwin EMC is excited to announce the latest recipients of the Shining Star Student award. These students were nominated for displaying the Touchstone Energy characteristics of integrity, innovation, accountability and commitment to community.

Jybrail Brown, an eighth grade student at Bay Minette Middle School, was named Baldwin EMC’s Shining Star Student of the Month for October. She was nominated by faculty member Felicia Lambert.

Lambert wrote in her nomination, “Jybrail is an outstanding and smart young student. [She] helps out a lot at home with her great-grandmother as well as staying an honor student at school. I am very proud of her.” Brown was presented with a Shining Star Student certificate and a $50 Visa gift card.

Additionally, Grace Morin, a sixth grade student at Magnolia School, was named Baldwin EMC’s Shining Star Student of the Month for November. She was nominated by faculty member Stacey Mashburn.

Mashburn wrote in her nomination, “Violet ‘Grace’ Morin is an outstanding student leader. Not only is she responsible for her work and responsibilities, but she is involved in many other positions on the school campus. Grace has compassion and love for others and continues to give of her time to help others throughout the school.” Morin was presented with a Shining Star Student certificate and a $50 Visa gift card.

The awards were presented by WALA FOX 10 TV’s meteorologist Michael White, who also delivered a weather presentation to each recipient’s class.
