BAY MINETTE, Ala. — The Faulkner State Sun Chiefs' home games scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 7 at Jack Robertson Arena have been reset due to severe weather conditions statewide. The men's and women's games hosting ACCCA opponent Lawson State have been rescheduled for Feb. 4.

The FSCC women get back on the road Jan. 10 for a 4:30 p.m. tip off at Chattahoochee Valley Community College then return home Jan. 17 to host Lurleen B. Wallace at 5:30 p.m. On Jan. 19 FSCC heads to Alabama Southern Community College (5:30 p.m.), then travel for a Jan. 21 contest at Delgado Community College (1 p.m.), are at Enterprise State (5:30 p.m.) on Jan. 23.

They return home Jan. 26 to host Wallace Community College-Selma at 5 :30 p.m., then play at conference and coastal rival Bishop State Community College Jan. 30 (5:30 p.m.), then host the BSCC Wildcats Feb. 6 at 5:30 p.m. They also close the regular season at home hosting BSCC Feb. 27 at 5:30 p.m.

The Sun Chief Women are the defending Southern Division champions, but are in a freshman heavy rebuilding phase this season. FSCC started the season with an 81-66 road loss at Tennessee powerhouse Volunteer State Community Community College College in Gallatin, Tenn on Nov. 4.

The Sun Chiefs got their first win of the season in their next contest the next day with a 71-66 victory at Columbia State in Columbia, Tenn. They also picked up home wins over Delgado 66-41 and Meridian Community College 77-68.

FSCC wrapped up December 2016 with a 63-56 loss in a rematch at Meridian Community College in Meridian Mississippi to take a 4-4, 0-1 record into the second half of the season.

SUN CHIEF MEN

BAY MINETTE — The Faulkner State Sun Chiefs' home games scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 7 at Jack Robertson Arena have been reset due to severe weather conditions statewide. The men's and women's games hosting ACCCA opponent Lawson State (Jan. 7) have been rescheduled for Feb. 4.

The Sun Chiefs took a 103-102 road victory at Lawson State on Dec. 8.

FSCC then travels to Chat Valley Jan. 10 (6:30 p.m.), are at Chattanooga State Jan. 12 (6 p.m.)and at Maryville College (2 p.m.) on Jan. 15.

The Chiefs are back home for Lurleen B. Wallace Jan. 17 at 7:30 p.m., at Alabama Southern on Jan. 19 (7:30 p.m.), at Delgado Jan. 21 (3 p.m.) and at Enterprise State Jan. 23 (7:30 p.m.). The FSCC men return home Jan. 26 to host Wallace (Selma) at 7:15 p.m., and close out January 2017 on the 30th at Bishop State at 7:30 p.m.

The Sun Chiefs open February at home in Jack Robertson Arena with visiting Jeff Davis at 7:15 p.m. (Feb. 2). They close out February hosting the BSCC Wildcats at 7:30 p.m.

The Sun Chiefs wrapped up the 2016 side of their 2016-17 season with a win and a loss on the road to take a 6-4 overall record into the holiday break with a 1-0 conference mark and a third-place spot in the Southern Division standings. The Faulkner State men started out this season with a 103-74 win over Pensacola Christian College on Nov. 1 in Bay Minette. They racked up more wins with a three-game win streak defeating Delgado 131-87, The University of Mobile Rams Junior Varsity 106-77 and Meridian Community College 78-66. They also defeated Southern Union State 118-115 in Tuscaloosa.

The men’s ACCC Tournament is set for March 7-10 at Lawson State.
