FOLEY, Ala.— Lane University junior Anthony Blackmon has been recognized for his football play. The defensive back was named to the All-Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference second team. The Daphne High School graduate had 48 tackles and one interception in nine games. He blocked a kick, forced a fumble and returned a fumble 91 yards for a touchdown.

• Harvard University safety Tanner Lee was named an all-Ivy League honorable mention pick. The junior, also out of Daphne High led the team with four interceptions and had 41 tackles in 10 games.

• Another former teammate with the Daphne Trojans, Southern Illinois University senior wide receiver Israel Lamprakes finished with 33 catches for a team-high 617 yards in 10 games. He had four touchdowns and recorded 31 receptions for 381 yards in 2016.

He was also named the team's Most Improved Player by his teammates and earned the MVFC Commissioner's Academic Excellence Award, which requires a minimum 3.2 cumulative GPA.

• Out of Foley High senior defensive back B.T. Sanders of Nicholls State University was named to the all-Southland Conference second team. The Foley High product finished with 55 tackles, third on the team, in playing eight of 11 games. The captain had one interception and one forced fumble.

• Senior defensive lineman DeMarco Montgomery had 42 tackles and one sack in 13 games for University of Memphis. The Spanish Fort High graduate started the Boca Raton Bowl and finished with six tackles.

• Junior defensive back Jonathan Cook led Memphis with 88 tackles, including seven in the Boca Raton Bowl, in 13 games. The past Toro added one interception and a 50-yard fumble recovery.

• Previous Toro Kylan Cotton finished second in tackles for Scottsdale Community College. The sophomore defensive back had 58 stops in 10 games and intercepted one pass.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL

• Alabama Southern Community College sophomore Payton Kiser had a season-high 14 points against Shelton State Community College. She competed for Foley.

• LaGrange College junior Austin Richardson had four points, two rebounds and an assist for the Panthers in a 77-65 home win in Mariotti Gym against Rust College. The Robertsdale High graduate played two years for Gadsden State Community College.

• University of Alabama junior Coco Knight tied her season high of five rebounds against McNeese State. The Baldwin County graduate added five points.

MEN'S WRESTLING

• Huntingdon College freshman Layne LyBrand lost by a fall at 184 pounds against Limestone College. The former Toro also has competed at 174 pounds.
