Mrs. Melba Ruth Straughn Graham

Mrs. Melba Ruth Straughn Graham, age 83, a native of Repton, Alabama and resident of Loxley, Alabama, passed away, Sunday Aug. 21, 2016 at home with family.

Mrs. Graham was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Robertsdale.

After a long career with Georgia Pacific, she retired as one of the first women outside sales persons. After retirement she was a very active member of the Bear Point Civic Association.

Mrs. Melba Ruth Graham was preceded in death by her parents, James E. and Clara Martin Straughn.

She is survived by her loving husband, David Graham of Loxley, Alabama; son, Rob Davis (Anna Marie) of Harrison, Arkansas; son, Randy Davis (Jeanne) of Nashville, Tennessee; daughter, Risa Perry (Wayne) of Fairhope, Alabama; stepdaughter, Linda Kay Gray (Terry) of Axis, Alabama; stepson, Kenneth Dewayne Graham (Maria) of Turnerville, Alabama; brother, James N. Straughn (Sandra) of Orange Beach, Alabama; nine grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

A time of visitation for the Graham family will be Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2016, from noon-2 p.m. at Pine Rest Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held Aug. 24, 2016 starting at 2 p.m. at Pine Rest Funeral Home chapel, located at 16541 U.S. Highway 98, Foley, AL 36535, with burial immediately following the service in Pine Rest Memorial Park.

Conducting the funeral for Mrs. Graham will be Pastor Harvey Earls and Mrs. Graham's sons, Rob Davis and Randy Davis.

The pallbearers for Mrs. Graham will be Joshua Perry, John Robert Davis, Bryant Davis, Wayne Graham, Derrick Greene and Kevin Walker.

The family suggests that memorial donations be made in lieu of flowers to Bethel Baptist Church, 22250 U.S. Hwy. 90, Robertsdale, AL 36567, The Michael J. Fox Foundation, P.O. Box 5014, Hagertown, MD 21741-5014, or Golden Offering for Tennessee Missions, P.O. Box 728, Brentwood, TN 37024-0728.

The family expresses deep gratitude to Mrs. Graham's caregivers from Right at Home, Chastity Roberts, Wadeeyah Harris and Ashley Williams, and to the owner of Right at Home Neal Gaudet, Sandra Graham, Joan Hall and St. Joseph Hospice staff.
