The Golden Bears defeated Alma Bryant at Irvington 7-4 Wednesday night to improve to 2-0. RHS opened 2017 against Davidson 15-5 Monday night in 5 innings. Daizee Finley (2-0) picked up both wins. RHS will host their Swing Into Spring Tournament this weekend.

ROBERTSDALE, Ala. — The Golden Bears defeated Alma Bryant at Irvington 7-4 Wednesday night to improve to 2-0. RHS opened 2017 against Davidson 15-5 Monday night in 5 innings. Daizee Finley (2-0) picked up both wins. At ABHS,

Finley went the distance agaimst a copmepetive Hurricanes; lineup with seven completed innings on: four runs (two earned), 10 hits and nine strikeouts.

"Annaleigh Ash had a really good defensive game and Lauren Terrell had a good night at the plate," said RHS head coach Barry Roberts.

Finley pitched 1/3 of an inning against the Warriors. MaKenzie Hardy started the game with a 2-0 lead, but the Warriors came back to score four runs in the second inning. Finley reentered the circle to close the inning with a strike out.

The Bears then scored eight runs in the bottom of the second and outscored Davidson 7-1 the rest of the way. Hardy went back to the circle and finished the game.

At the plate Finley helped the Robertsdale offense going 2-for-3 with 4 RBIs and a Home Run. Emily Sinclair was 2-for-2 with 3 RBIs, Annaleigh Ash was 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, Amara Gruber was very solid defensively at third base and Katie Garriga had three stolen bases as a courtesy runner.

Friday and Saturday Robertsdale will host the "Swing Into Spring Tournament" with varsity games played at Robertsdale High Schools fields and at Garret Park. Robertsdale faces Cottage Hill Friday in the opening rouund at 6:30 p.m.

The JV portion of the tournament will be played at Loxley Municipal park fields. Games start at 5 p.m., on Friday and at 8 a.m., on Saturday.
