BAY MINETTE — An elderly Robertsdale man was killed when the vehicle he was driving on Interstate 65 northeast of Perdido ran off the roadway, struck an embankment and overturned on Wednesday.

The single-vehicle crash occurred at 4:50 p.m. at the 46.60 mile marker, four miles northeast of Perdido, according to a release issued Thursday by the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

Bobby Glen Agerton, 81, of Robertsdale was transported to Sacred Heart Hospital, where he died at 7:18 p.m.

Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate the crash.
