Alabama oysters - Alabama music - Alabama hospitality

As Alabama’s 200th birthday celebration concludes, there could be no more fitting way to celebrate Alabama’s beautiful beaches, Alabama oysters, and Alabama hospitality than with the Alabama music and musicians who have helped create the soundtrack for so many lives.

Come dance, sing along, and hear the stories behind the music when the Jimmy Hall and the Muscle Shoals All-Stars come to Gulf Shores to celebrate 60 years of #1 hit records. Songs like “Mustang Sally,” “Old Time Rock and Roll,” “Sweet Soul Music,” “Slip Away,” “Free Bird,” R-E-S-P-E-C-T, “Tell Mama,” “Respect Yourself,” “Brown Sugar,” “I’ll Take You There,” and “When a Man Loves a Woman” are only a few of the hundreds of No. 1 hits recorded at FAME Studios and Muscle Shoals Sound Studio over the decades.

Fronted by Mobile native Jimmy Hall of Wet Willie and Jeff Beck fame, the lineup of legends includes David Hood, of the Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section- better known as the “Swampers” who were made famous by Lynyrd Skynyrd in their iconic song “Sweet Home Alabama.” Also making an appearance is keyboard player Spooner Oldham who helped create some of the most popular songs in American music history. The rest of the Muscle Shoals All-Stars are: Clayton Ivey, Will McFarlane, Kelvin Holly, Carla Russell, Cindy Walker, Marie Lewey, Lynn Williams, Steve Herman, Brad Guin, Doug Moffet and Charles Rose.

The night will kick off FAME’S 60th anniversary year as Jimmy, David, Spooner and the All-Stars along with their special guests celebrate FAME and the Muscle Shoals sound.
