Angelo "Dago" Joseph Gent, age 85, a resident of Elberta, Alabama, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, Oct. 26, 2017.

Angelo retired from the U.S. Air Force and Federal Protective Service having more than 40 years of combined service to his country. During his military service, he served in the Korean War and Vietnam.

Angelo enjoyed nature traveling the country visiting national parks and spending time with family and friends. Angelo was an avid angler, enjoyed reading and photography.

Dago will be remembered for his quick wit, devotion to family and willingness to help a friend in need.

Preceded in death by his son, Angelo Joseph Gent Jr.

Angelo is survived by his wife, Marie C. Gent; two daughters, Theresa (Robert) Freitag, Anna (Kendrick) Cochran; his son, Thomas (Ann) Gent; seven grandchildren, Angie, Robert, Emily, Leston, Lenwood, Cate and Liam; ten great-grandchildren, Felix, Sophia, Madeline, Landen, Shelbie, Sienna, Autumn, J.K., Malachi and Rosalie; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Foley, Monday, Oct. 30, 2017 from 6 until 8 p.m.

Graveside service will be held at Barrancas National Cemetery, Pensacola, Florida, Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2017 at 11 a.m.
