Anne Corbett appointed to late husband’s council seat

BAY MINETTE, Alabama — Anne Halliday Corbett has been appointed in Bay Minette to take over the council seat left vacant by the death of her husband, Danleigh Corbett.

Judge Marcus McDowell administered the oath of office at the Bay Minette City Council meeting on Monday, Nov. 4.

Anne Corbett was appointed to the District 1 council seat, filling the unexpired term of her late husband, who was first elected in 2008, then re-elected in 2012 and 2016. The term is set to expire in November of 2020.

Mayor Bob Wills presented Corbett with a portrait of her husband as well as the name plate for his council seat.
