Baldwin EMC experiencing outages and unsafe conditions

As of 8:00 p.m., Baldwin EMC announced it has approximately 2,400 members experiencing power outages due to Tropical Storm Gordon. Crews are currently out assessing damage and restoring power and will continue working as long as it is safe to do so.

At this time, Baldwin EMC reports many of the outages are due to trees and tree limbs on power lines. Officials at Baldwin EMC warn members to stay away from downed power lines and please assume the lines are energized and dangerous.

Baldwin EMC members who need to report an outage or report lines on the ground should call (251) 989-6247.

Outages can also be reported online or by text. To report online visit www.baldwineme.com/outage-center, then click the link for the interactive outage map and log in using your Facebook account.

To text your outage, first text “Baldwin” to 85700. Select your address, then to report the outage, text “Outage” to the same number. Note: The number you text from must match one of the phone numbers on your account.
