BAY MINETTE, Ala. - Baldwin County High School had three members of its Lady Tigers Softball Team sign scholarships to play at the next level. Morgan Davison inked with Coastal Alabama Community College in Monroeville, Randa Day with Spring Hill College and Chloe Buck with Coastal Alabama Community College in Bretwon. Coach Anthony Cox said he expects big things out of all three players.

Morgan Davison, left-handed pitcher, signed with Coastal Alabama Community College of Monroeville (formerly Alabama Southern). Davison has been a member of the BCHS Softball team since her 7th-grade year. She was selected to the 2017 All-County team and was named pitcher of the year for BCHS Softball team.

“Morgan will be a great asset to Coastal Alabama on the mound as a talented left handed pitcher. She throws a screw, curve, fast ball, change, and drop,” Cox said. Morgan won 12 games on the mound last year and she had 100 strikeouts in 134 innings with a 2.81 E.R.A.

Chloe Buck, Third baseman, signed with Coastal Alabama Community College of Brewton (formerly Jeff Davis). She has been a member of the BCHS Softball team since her 7th-grade year. Buck batted .305 and led the Lady Tigers in stolen bases with 25 and scored 30 runs.

“Chloe is very talented and can play multiple positions. She is a very good base runner and has tremendous speed and she will do a great job at Coastal Alabama,” Cox said.

Randa Day, left fielder and left handed slapper, signed with Spring Hill College of Mobile. Randa has been a member of the BCHS Softball team since her 7th-grade year. She batted .325 with 30 runs scored and 20 stolen base. Day has started on the varsity since her 9th-grade year. Her career batting average is .350 and she bats 1st or 2nd in the lineup.

“She can bunt, slap, and hit from the left side although she is a natural right handed batter,” Cox said.

“Randa does a great job of being a team leader and she will have a successful career at Spring Hill College.”

The Lady Tigers will kick off its play against the JU Blacksher Bulldogs on Feb. 20 for the season home opener.
