Bobby "Mac" McCarley, age 90, a native of Bexar, Alabama and a resident of the Elsanor community, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2020.

Mr. McCarley retired from the United States Navy after serving 24 years. His second career was with Warrior Gulf Navigation for 19 years as a riverboat captain.

Mr. McCarley enjoyed his family and working at the farm. He was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church.

Mr. McCarley is survived by his wife of 67 years, Helen I. McCarley of Elsanor, Alabama; daughter, Laketa Sue (Bobby) Fredrick, Hamilton, Alabama; two sons, Bobby "Mack" (Donna) McCarley Jr. of Perdido Key, Florida, Danny (Luanne) McCarley of Foley, Alabama; three sisters, Rhemel Smith of Hamilton, Alabama, Wanda Stevens of Long Beach, Mississippi, Anna Rae Ozburn of El Cajon, California; two grandchildren, Jennifer Graham and Kimberly Ortiz; and five great-grandchildren, Jackson, Caroline, Catherine, Ansley and Owen.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Feb. 1, 2020 at 11 a.m. at the Bethel Baptist Church, with Rev. Harvey Earls officiating.

A visitation will be held from 10:30 until 11 a.m. at the church.

Interment will be in the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery, Robertsdale, Alabama.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
