Our beloved Carolyn Diane Sanks Ayres died peacefully in the arms of her husband and the presence of her children on Thursday, March 1, 2018.

Diane was born Jan. 23, 1951 in Atmore, Alabama to Claude and Betty Wright Sanks. She married Michael Dennis Ayres in Savannah, Georgia on Aug. 21, 1971.

Diane attended Georgia Southern University and worked as a travel consultant before becoming a full-time mother.

She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Diane placed her husband and family before herself; her love was unlimited and her soul pure.

Those left to remember the good times and mourn her passing include her husband, Michael Ayres; children, Kristen Ayres Grach (Jeshua), James Michael Ayres (Raquel), Abigail Ayres Margelofsky (Kyle) and Matthew Stewart Ayres (Desiree); grandchildren, Hannah, Levi and Georgia Grach; Makayla, Hudson, and Hayes Ayres; Ella, Caleb, Jonas, Ada, and Rose Margelofsky; Mikenzi and Hayden Fortin; parents, Claude and Betty Sanks; siblings, Debbie Zahrt, Claude (Bobby) Sanks, Cathy Conaway, Tim Sanks; and a host of additional family and friends.

Visitation for family and friends will be on Friday, March 9, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel, 7200 Hodgson Memorial Dr., Savannah, GA.

Memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 10, at 2 p.m. at Compassion Christian Church, AMC Building, 55 Al Henderson Blvd., Savannah, GA.

Interment will be Monday, March 12, at 11 a.m. in Westover Memorial Park, 2601 Wheeler Road, Augusta, GA.

Have God hold you in his arms until I arrive, then we will walk through Heaven together, hand in hand, for Eternity. Love, your Mike.
