ROBERTSDALE, Alabama — The Central Baldwin Chamber of Commerce will celebrate a major milestone at its annual banquet to be held Thursday, Jan. 16 at the Baldwin County Coliseum in Robertsdale.

This year’s banquet will celebrate the 45th anniversary of the Chamber’s founding and will again honor the organization’s founders with the “Fell, Gilbert, Mack, Pearson – Founders Award,” which began last year, combining the Man and Woman of the Year awards.

“It is a tradition of the Chamber to recognize an individual for outstanding achievements each year,” according to a letter sent to Chamber members in November. “This new award honors our Chamber Founders that understood the need in the business community to create an organization that would promote growth, economic stability and supports thriving commerce. Raymond Fell, Jimmy Gilbert, Huey Mack Sr., and Percy Pearson all possessed that vision and dedicated themselves to make it a reality.”

Tickets are $40 per person, $75 per couple or $300 for a table of eight (call the Chamber for table availability).

The event kicks off with social hour at 5 p.m., featuring a silent auction, music, hors d’oeuvres and adult beverages. Dinner will be served at 6:30, catered this year by Café Acadiana of Silverhill with the program set to begin at 7 p.m.

Awards will also be presented for the “Business of the Year,” given to a business in each of the four municipalities served by the chamber: Loxley, Robertsdale, Silverhill and Summerdale; along with the “Small Business of the Year,” and “Emerging Small Business of the Year,” which were voted on by Chamber members, along with the annual “Chamber Volunteer of the Year” award, “Community Volunteer of the Year Award,” “Generations” and “Good Government” awards.

During the evening the 2019 Chairman of the Board Sandy Folan with Tug and Barge Solutions will pass the gavel to 2020 Chairman Jeff Windham of Hamm Enterprises. Baldwin County Probate Judge Harry D’Olive will be the chairman-elect for 2021. The chamber will also acknowledge the incoming executive board and board of directors for 2020 and honor and acknowledge outgoing board members.
