ROBERTSDALE, Alabama — 2020 Central Baldwin Chamber Board President Jeff Windham said he is looking forward to a productive year promoting business in Central Baldwin County.
“I am humbled and honored to have the opportunity to take on the role of Chairman of the Board this year and have the opportunity to work alongside such a strong group of business leaders,” said 2020 Board Chairman Jeff Windham. “Their expertise and knowledge will provide us with invaluable guidance and leadership to build on our success in 2019.”
A native of Birmingham, Windham is a graduate of Samford University and attended law school at the University of Alabama.
He was hired by Mary Bell Hamm as president and CEO of Hamm Enterprises in Robertsdale in May of 2015, joining the Chamber in December of that year.
“The Chamber has been an invaluable tool to promote our business,” Windham said, “and has been instrumental in making connections in the community.”
Windham said this is the fifth influx of new board members he has been involved with and is more excited about this influx of new Board members than ever before.
“We’ve got such a great diversity with this upcoming board,” he said. “We have representatives from small and large businesses, private entities and government officials, we’ve got both young folks and more experienced folks, male and female.”
The Chamber welcomed the 2020 Board members at its annual meeting held Jan. 16 at the Baldwin County Coliseum in Robertsdale.
Board members include incoming Chairman for 2020, Baldwin County Judge of Probate Harry D’Olive; outgoing Board Chairman for 2019 Sandy Folan of Tug & Barge Solutions; new members Michelle Geans of Baldwin EMC; Connie Glassford of Roberts Brothers Central Baldwin; Todd Hull of Shamrock Properties; Melissa Santa Cruz of Long’s Human Resource Services; Jenny Buck of First Baldwin Land Title; Jenni Guerry of Baldwin County Emergency Management Agency; additional Board members Danny Scott, Riviera Utilities; Rebecca Mills, Bryant Bank; Rustee Karolyi, city of Robertsdale; Kathy Schreiber, Advantage Business Solutions; Hayden Kaechele, South Baldwin Regional Medical Center; Kat McCaghren, Thomas Hospital; Donna Harper, Greer’s CashSaver; Jason Shipp, Adams Stewart Architects; and Tim Hite, Coca Cola Bottling Company United.
Municipality representatives include Mary deLaunay, Town of Silverhill; Ruthie Campbell, City of Robertsdale; Janice Christopherson, Town of Loxley; and Mary Carolyn McDaniel, Town of Summerdale.
The Chamber also honored outgoing Board members for 2019, 2018 Chamber Board President Jeff Plato, Network Cabling Services & Solutions; Leanne Murray, Baldwin Realtors; Rebecca Shobe, Baldwin EMC; Richard Teal, Flowerwood Nursery; Jenny Williams, Baldwin County Sewer Services; and Meghan Larson, The Hiller Companies.
As far as goals for 2020, Windham said, he was looking forward to working with civic and city leaders to promote commerce in Central Baldwin and continuing to strengthen the Chamber’s online and social media presence.
Windham said he is also looking forward to the Chamber’s continued involvement with the Baldwin County Chamber Coalition, which was created in 2019, comprised of Baldwin County’s five Chambers of Commerce, including the North Baldwin Chamber of Commerce, South Baldwin Chamber of Commerce, Coastal Alabama Chamber of Commerce and the Eastern Shore Chamber of Commerce.
The Coalition aims to support business by educating employers and their employees regarding important legislative issues, connecting directly with local elected officials about issues that matter to business members in Baldwin County, and effectively representing 3,500 members and 74,000 employees in combined membership.
