Charles Andrew "Andy" Scott, 63, of Magnolia Springs, died July 21, 2018 at MD Anderson Medical Center in Houston, Texas.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2018 at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in Indianola, Mississippi, with burial following at the Indianola City Cemetery.

Andy was born on Oct. 10, 1954, the son of the late Henry James Scott and Ora Elizabeth Bookout Tate. A graduate of the University of Montana, he majored in religion and philosophy.

Andy spent his professional career as a contractor in Point Clear, Alabama and New Orleans, Louisiana.

A passionate sportsman, he was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing with friends and business associates. Andy was very athletic, swimming every day.

He was a voracious reader and was known for always carrying books with him wherever he went.

Andy cherished spending time with family and friends. He loved much and was much loved by all who knew him.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Charles T. Bookout and Ora Snyder Bookout.

Andy is survived by sisters, Lynn Holbrook (John) of Bethel, Connecticut, Lee Corlew (John) of Jackson, Mississippi, Kathleen Scott of Placitas, New Mexico; brother, Henry Scott (Susana) of Boston, Massachusetts; nine nieces and nephews; 10 great-nieces and nephews; and special love, Betsy Eberle Fifield of New Orleans, Louisiana and her daughter, Allison Fifield of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; and Tobey, the family dog.

Pallbearers will be brother, Henry J. Scott Jr.; nephews, Andrew Holbrook, Stephen Holbrook and Heath Corlew; great-nephew, Jac Corlew; and cousin, Jim Heathman.

Honorary pallbearers are cousins, Brig. Gen. Walter Hatcher and Phillip Hatcher; and friends, Jay Monroe, Rick Balentine, Bob Edmundson, Bill Schwab and Tom Reagan.
