FOLEY - Looking for something fun and educational this weekend? Then come out and support Foley feeder pattern students while learning the history of the town at the first ever Forever Foley: Our Legacy event. Forever Foley will take place on Saturday, April 27 from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. at the Foley Civic Center (407 E Laurel Avenue) and is free to the public.

Forever Foley is a collaboration from all Foley schools: Foley Elementary, Foley Intermediate, Foley Middle, Foley High, Swift Elementary, and Magnolia Elementary. Student projects will be on display celebrating the history and culture of Foley. Along with the projects will be performances by the Foley High School Choir, band, and robotics team, along with presentations from the Quilters Club and Antique Tractor Club. Foley families will be onsite to tell true stories of Foley through the years. Outside of the Civic Center, walking tours led by students will be taking place in Heritage Park, including tours of the Hamburg Building, Holmes Medical Museum, and the Train Depot.

The idea began in 2018 when Foley High School Curriculum Leader Tyson Reed approached the South Baldwin Chamber Foundation with his budding plan, which expanded to become Forever Foley. Reed developed the concept to not only celebrate the city, but the students who are here today and want to take part in their community and heritage.

Forever Foley is part of the Alabama Bicentennial Grant Initiative, and is sponsored by the City of Foley, the South Baldwin Chamber of Commerce, and the Baldwin Public Schools System.
