It is time once again for the annual City of Foley Geo Weekend. The city has two events scheduled – one on Sat., Feb. 23 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. and one on Sun., Feb. 24 from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
The City of Foley “Decipher This!” event will be held on Saturday at Max Griffin park. Geocachers should be there at 10 a.m. to receive instructions on what geocaches need to be found to retrieve portions of a code that must be deciphered. Bring all portions of the code back to Max Griffin park to decipher and if you need a key for the code, you can acquire it at this time. Everyone deciphering the code will receive a ticket for which they can possibly win a prize. There are over 50 prizes to give away at this event. We will begin drawing for prizes around 12:30 p.m.
The City of Foley “Geo Winners Brunch” event will be held on Sunday at The Drowsy Poet @The Foley Station. Geocachers will meet here starting at 11 a.m. Please bring your camping chairs as seating will be limited outside The Drowsy Poet. All geocachers attending will be responsible for their own purchases of food and drink. We will also have more prizes to give away. Drawing for these prizes will begin at noon.
GC codes for the City events are GC831Y6 and GC831Z5. These can be used via any geocaching app or at www.geocaching.com to log your “Will Attend.”
