During the Feb. 5 Foley council, Mayor Koniar presented an Arbor Day Proclamation, announcing Saturday, Feb. 24 as Arbor Day in Foley. Observance will take place on that day at the Coastal Alabama Farmers and Fishermans Market (20733 Miflin Road) at 1 p.m. The city will be giving away three-gallon-container trees, one per family, and would like to invite everyone out to pick and plant a free tree to help keep Foley green. The city is recognized as a Tree City by the Arbor Day Foundation, with 2018 being the 37th year of recognition.
