Daphne Signing Day 2017

• Three Trojans ink collegiate scholarship offers

DAPHNE, Ala., — Three Daphne High student-athletes were recognized for their accomplishment of making collegiate plans to play sports at the next level NOV. 8 at DHS. Surrounded by family, friends, coaches, and the Daphne High administration, the athletes signed their letters of intent to officially accept athletic scholarships offered to them by the following schools:

• Kennedy Cronan – University of South Alabama
Kennedy Cronan is a shortstop signing with the University of South Alabama. Dating back to her freshman and sophomore year at Gulf Shores and including her junior year at Daphne, she has compiled a batting average of .457 with 51 doubles, 19 homers, and 139 RBIs.
She was a First Team All-State selection in 2017. She was also named to the North-South All Star game in 2017.


• Aspyn Godwin – Auburn University
Aspyn Godwin is a catcher signing with Auburn University. Dating back to her freshman year on the Varsity softball team at Daphne, she has compiled a batting average of .426 with 44 doubles, 41 home runs, and 136 RBIs, and 66 stolen bases.
She was a First Team All-State selection in 2015, 2016, and 2017. She was named the ASWA 6A Hitter of the Year in 2016, and she was named to the North-South All Star game in 2017.

• MaKenna Pierce – University of Southern Mississippi
Makenna Pierce is a pitcher/third baseman signing with the University of Southern Mississippi. Dating back to her freshman year on the Varsity softball team at Daphne, she has compiled a batting average of .420 with 48 doubles, 19 home runs, and 146 RBIs. In that time she also amassed 600 innings pitched, with a record of 62 wins and 16 losses, 652 strikeouts, and a 1.07 ERA.
She was a First Team All-State selection in 2015 and 2017, and was also named Second Team All-State in 2016. She was also named the ASWA 6A Pitcher of the Year in 2017.
