Dolores Williams Freil, age 89, a native of Petal, Mississippi and a resident of Elberta, Alabama, passed away Monday, Jan. 22, 2018.
She graduated from Petal High School in 1947 and Mississippi Southern College in 1951 with a bachelor of science degree.
Dolores retired in 1983 from Fox Army Hospital in Huntsville, Alabama where she was a medical technologist. She previously worked in medical laboratories at Huntsville Hospital, Keesler Air Force Base, and hospitals in Colorado and Washington.
In 1996 she moved to Allen, Texas where her daughters lived. In 2001, she lived in Georgia with her son then moved to Elberta, Alabama in 2002.
Dolores was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Edward Freil Jr.; her parents, John Walter and Victoria Eccles Williams; and brothers, Rodney Williams, and John "Bowl" Williams.
She is survived by her daughters, Cinde (Steve) Pettey of Allen, Texas and Linde (Jeff) Lynn of Elberta, Alabama; son, Lawrence Freil of Woodstock, Georgia; eight grandchildren, Sarah (Brandon) Stanford, Gordon Pettey, Earl Pettey, Jacob (Emma Storm) Lynn, Cecily (Hristos) Potouridis, Virginia Lynn, Larry Freil and Kylara (Kelly) Chen; four great-grandchildren, Evelyn, Eileen and Keldon Stanford, and Virginia Potouridis; and brother, Thomas (Sue) Williams of Petal, Mississippi.
A private memorial service will be held in Elberta on March 10 at 5 p.m.
