SUMMERDALE - The Marjorie Younce Snook Public Library in Summerdale joined more than 1,000 libraries across the country participating in the celestial event of the century, the August 21, 2017 Solar Eclipse. During this national event, the shadow of the moon swept across the United States in a narrow band from the Pacific Ocean to the Atlantic Ocean in a spectacle that hasn't occurred in decades. It was aptly named the Eclipse Across America. The library provided solar eclipse glasses for all participants. Everyone at the library enjoyed chocolate covered donuts while watching the solar eclipse.
