Edith Gregory Burt, age 94, a resident of Fairhope, Alabama, passed away Monday, Nov. 20, 2017.
Edith was raised in Newport News, Virginia. She was a resident of Fairhope since 1973.
Ms. Edie was employed with Postmark Inc. until the age of 80 and then volunteered as a "Pink Lady" at Thomas Hospital for 10 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Earnest R. Burt.
She is survived by her sons, Earnest G. Burt "Greg" of Fairhope, John R. Burt "Randy" (Rachel) of Daphne and Michael P. Burt of Mobile; daughter, Mary Burt Crittenden (Jeff) of Dothan, Alabama; grandchildren, Rachel Phillips (Jamison), J.R. Burt (Tabitha), Nicholas R. Burt, Matthew B. Crittenden (Keisha), Mary Ryan Crittenden and Morgan Crittenden; great-grandchildren, Hayden, Lilli, Calli Jean, Oliver, Piper, Harper and Kinsley; brother, James Gregory; many other loving relatives and friends.
Ms. Edie's family would like to extend our love and gratitude to all the staff at the Brennity in Daphne, specifically the Memory Care Unit for their attentiveness and loving care.
A memorial service will be held Friday, Nov. 24, 2017 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church at 11 a.m.
Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. in the St. Lawrence Room at the church.
Inurnment services will be private.
