Fairhope man charged in child sexual assault investigation

FAIRHOPE – A Fairhope man was arrested Wednesday, Jan. 13, on felony charges as a result of an on-going child sexual assault investigation by the Fairhope Police Department.

John Ryan Arnold, 39, is charged with enticing a child for immoral purposes and domestic violence – strangulation or suffocation, according to Fairhope police. Both are felony charges and additional charges are also pending, the statement said.

The incidents are alleged to have taken place over an extended period of time and were reported to Fairhope Police in October 2020.

Arnold was transferred to the Baldwin County Corrections Center in Bay Minette, where he was being held on $17,500 bond on Thursday.

Arnold had 14 previous bookings in the Baldwin County Corrections Center dating back to 2000, according to jail records.
