Fairhope recognizes police officers for bravery

Fairhope Patrol Officers and Telecommunications Officers were honored during last week’s City Council Meeting for their courageous response during a dangerous incident last fall.

On October 26, 2017, dispatchers balanced a trail of calls for help as two subjects led officers on an intense pursuit that included a high-speed chase through neighborhoods, a stolen vehicle, home invasion and shots fired at officers.

The officers and dispatchers involved were commended for devotion to duty in the face of adverse circumstances.

Interim Chief Stephanie Hollinghead said she was proud to honor the men and women of the department for their bravery and ability to remain calm under pressure.
