Fairhope's Biscuit King vies for Bama's Best Breakfast title

The stage is now set for an early morning food fight as eight Alabama restaurants have been selected to compete for the title of Bama’s Best Breakfast - including popular Fairhope eatery, The Biscuit King Cafe on County Road 24.

Nominees are based on the number of Facebook comments on “Simply Southern TV’s” post announcing the contest. 

One winner will be selected through a bracket-style tournament on “Simply Southern TV’s” Facebook page.

From Dec. 10-13, two restaurants will be pitted against each other, with the top vote-getter moving on to the second round Dec. 17 and 18. The championship vote will take place Dec. 20. 

The overall winner will receive $300 and a plaque, along with the chance to be featured in “Simply Southern TV’s” fourth season.

 

First Round

Matchup No. 1 on Dec. 10: Tater’s Restaurant in Luverne vs. Biscuit King Cafe in Fairhope

Matchup No. 2 on Dec. 11: Big Bad Breakfast in Florence vs. Walters’ Gas & Grill in Opelika

Matchup No. 3 on Dec. 12: Ray’s Restaurant in Dothan vs. The Waysider in Tuscaloosa

Matchup No. 4 on Dec. 13: Staggs Grocery in Florence vs. Chris Z’s in Birmingham

 

Second Round

Semifinal No. 1 on Dec. 17: Matchup No. 1 Winner vs. Matchup No. 3 Winner

Semifinal No. 2 on Dec. 18: Matchup No. 2 Winner vs. Matchup No. 4 Winner

 

Final Round

Dec. 20: Semifinal No. 1 Winner vs. Semifinal No. 2 Winner
