Flavors of the South canceled; gun raffle pushed back to November

ROBERTSDALE, Alabama — The Central Baldwin Chamber of Commerce has canceled plans for its annual Flavors of the South Food and Wine Tasting event.

Originally scheduled for July, the event, presented by South Baldwin Regional Medical Center, was pushed back to Oct. 15 at the Baldwin County Coliseum, 19477 Fairground Road, Robertsdale.

Officials said, however, following the devastation of Hurricane Sally on Sept. 16, the decision was made to cancel the event.

Meanwhile, the Chamber’s 15/15 Gun Raffle, which was set to begin Oct. 5, has been pushed back to Nov. 2.

Tickets are $50 each for 15 chances to win 15 guns with a total retail value of $8,600. Tickets will be sold through Nov. 1 or while supplies last. A limited number of tickets are still available for the drawings.

Drawings will be held beginning Nov. 2 and will continue daily, Monday through Friday over the following three weeks.

  • Franchi Affinity 3 Black Synthetic 12-gauge shotgun with 26-inch barrel.
  • Keystone Cricket Walnut .22 caliber long rifle.
  • Stoeger S/S Uplander Supreme Wood 20 gauge shotgun with 28-inch barrel.
  • Savage Mark II FV .22 caliber long rifle.
  • Browning BLR Wood .243 caliber rifle.
  • Browning X-Bolt Stalker 7mm-08 bolt-action rifle.
  • Remington 700 SPS Black Synthetic .223 caliber rifle.
  • Martin Model 60 Stainless/Wood .22 caliber long rifle.
  • Tikka T3X Lite Black Synthetic 6.5 Creedmoor bolt-action rifle.
  • Henry Single Shot Wood 20-gauge shotgun.
  • Stoeger STR-9, 9 mm handgun.
  • Smith & Wesson M&P Bodyguard FDE .380 caliber handgun.
  • Ruger American Black Synthetic .30-06 rifle.
  • Beneli M2 Black Synthetic 12-gauge shotgun.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Chamber’s Junior Executive Youth Leadership Scholarship program.
