Flora Mae Long

Posted

Flora Mae Long, the most patient woman in Fairhope, Alabama, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sept. 24, 2017.

She was 85, proving you can live a long and happy life on a diet of Hershey's Kisses, coffee, pound cake and milk. To be in her home was to be surrounded by her warmth, even if she kept the air at a cool 65.

Flora was many things - treasured sister, loyal friend, impressive gossip - but most of all she was a mother. In this she gave her whole heart and a little something extra.

She will be laid to rest beside her beloved daughter, Stephanie, and will be fiercely missed by her husband Fred; her son, Michael; her nephew, Jeff; her grandsons, Cooper and Justin; and her great-granddaughters, Flora June and Santina Rose.

Services will be held at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Fairhope, Friday, Sept. 29, 2017 at 11 a.m.

Visitation will begin at 10 until time of service.

Interment will follow in Memory Gardens of Fairhope.

In lieu of sending flowers, do something nice for someone you love. Flora would have liked that.
