FOLEY - Christmas may still be two months away, but Foley’s annual Christmas Parade, organized by the Foley Kiwanis Club, will be here before you know it! The 2017 parade is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 2, and the Kiwanis Club is taking applications for anyone who is interested in joining the fun! The club, which has been serving the community for more than 60 years, is excited to once again sponsor the parade, and they are looking to grow this year.
The club is seeking anyone who is interested in participating in the parade to please go ahead and register now, as even though Christmas seems awhile away the parade will be here in a month. There will be categories for personal and commercial floats, with prizes in each category. All participants are required to have a holiday theme, so whether entering a float or driving a company truck, decorations and adherence to theme are required.
If you are interested in participating in this year’s Christmas Parade, would like to know the Official Christmas Parade Rules and Guidelines, or would like additional information, check the Foley Kiwanis Club’s website at www.FoleyKiwanisClub.com. An application for participation in the parade is available on the website to submit, as well as a form to join the club for those interested and a list of meeting dates. The official parade route and lineup will be released later in the month.
