FOLEY – People have lots of resolutions come the new year, and if one of yours is to read more during the 2020s, then prepare for one of the biggest book sales of the year. The Annual Friends of the Foley Library’s Book Sale will be taking place Thursday, Feb. 6 from 1 - 4 p.m. for Friends of the Library members only, and for the general public on Friday, Feb. 7 from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. and Saturday, Feb. 8 from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. For those who attend on Saturday, it will cost $5 to fill up a bag with as many books, movies, and CDs as you can fill.

The Book Sale takes place at the Foley Civic Center (407 East Laurel Avenue), right next to the Foley Public Library.

This year promises to be huge, as the stock room that stores the books for the sale is overflowing. The Foley High School ROTC will assist with the set up and take down of the large event.

Anyone looking to become a member of the Friends of the Foley Library can purchase membership at the door. Single membership is $10 and family membership is $15. Those who join the Friends get first choice during the sale!

One-hundred percent of the proceeds from the sale go to help fund the Foley Public Library and the many events it hosts during the year. During the 2018-2019 year, the Friends helped by donating over $20,000 for projects to the library, including 20% of library interior painting, shelving for library, new rolling carts, Summer Reading Program, and library part time help.
