Franklin M. Dunn, born Jan. 25, 1937, passed away Sept. 23, 2017 at the age of 80 in DeLand, Florida.
He was born in Hickory, Mississippi to James Robert and Lula Mae Dunn. He moved to Fairhope at the age of 6 and graduated from Fairhope High School in 1955 and then went on to attend the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
He was in the United States Navy Reserve for eight years and retired after 30 years as an auditor with Chevron Oil.
He had a great love for the University of Alabama football program.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Robert and Lula Mae Dunn; brother, James Robert Jr.; and sister, Peggy Barnes.
He is survived by his wife of almost 55 years, Beverly Leavins Dunn; brother, Kenny Dunn of Pensacola, Florida; daughter, Melinda Thomason (Jeff) of Jacksonville, Florida; son, Frank Dunn Jr. (Debi) of Deland, Florida and Tracie Lowenstein (Brendan) of DeLand, Florida. He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren, Stephanie, Kyndall, Madison, Mitchell and Michaela.
Visitation from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 29, 2017.
Graveside service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 30, 2017 at Memory Gardens of Fairhope.
