Posted

BAY MINETTE, Alabama — Coastal Alabama Community College’s Financial Aid Department is hosting a series of free seminars to help those planning on attending a college or university who will fill out a FAFSA (pronounced faf-sah), which stands for the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. The seminars are open to the public, regardless of the college or university a person is planning on attending.

The FAFSA, a document used by the U.S. Department of Education, is filled out by students who are seeking Pell grants, student loans, and other federal assistance. The process can be difficult for anyone who is not familiar with the application. So, as a community outreach service, Coastal Alabama’s Financial Aid Department will walk attendees through the completion of this widely used college federal aid application.

The seminars are from 6 to 8 p.m. at each location. No reservation is required to attend.

oBay Minette Campus : Oct.11 in the Memorial Hall Success Center

oBrewton Campus: Oct. 16 in the Wallace Building TLC Lab, Room 110.
