FOLEY – Most everyone has a hobby of some kind, and most hobbies require specific items in order to keep them going. A year ago, HobbyTown opened doors in Foley to help hobbyist, DIY and tinkers everywhere have a local shop for all of their hobby needs. With stores in 41 states, HobbyTown features an assortment of electronics, craft sets, RPG items, comics, and toys.
A big feature in HobbyTown stores are the electronics. From drones to model trains, radio controls and STEM products perfect for local schools and students, there’s a wide array of technology to choose from.
To help expand on that technological factor, HobbyTown is partnering with RadioShack to add RadioShack Expresses in stores, and here in Foley the new section is now up and running.
“Since we opened HobbyTown in Foley a year ago, we’ve had many customers who want to fix or build their own electronics,” said Sheldon Schlieper, Owner of HobbyTown Foley. “The opportunity to carry RadioShack products allows us to offer the Foley area a local source for those items. We now have the electronic tools, parts, and supplies for every level of expertise from a school project right up to building your own drone or robot.”
The RadioShack Express is a “store-within-store” concept, and the franchise hopes to cover more than 100 stores.
With HobbyTown already offering STEM products and electronics, bringing in a RadioShack Express seemed like a natural merger. Now customers can not only find items for their hobbies, they can also purchase supplies to build, mend, and create their own.
